The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

 

SCOPE:

 

  • Responsible for program cost, schedule, and technical performance on engineering development programs from prototype to full qualification
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a detailed IMS in conjunction with the engineering program planners to ensure contract deliverables are effectively monitored and tasking is disseminated to respective teams appropriately.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, developing estimates and soliciting and reviewing inputs from cross-functional team.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a risk and opportunity register in conjunction with the R&O manager; responsible for soliciting, understanding, validating, and reviewing risks with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in program reviews with internal leadership, prime contractor, and USG customers, and be able to communicate program status, needs and dependencies effectively.

 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree and five to seven (5-7) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong level of knowledge in program management or operations management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams on large, complex programs with concurrent design and production build activities.
  • Ability to effectively influence and lead others in a matrix organization by proactively reviewing program progress and course-correcting teams, driving issues to closure.
  • Understanding of the DoD contracting process and be able to guide a team through the RFI, proposal, negotiations and contract award/execution and program closeout.
  • Experience leading multifunctional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills
