Job Title: Head of eCommerce Location: Hybrid – Culver City, CA Duration: September 2, 2025 – February 20, 2026 Schedule: 20–25 hours/week with flexibility; ~35 hours/week during key commercial periods (especially November and Black Friday/Cyber Monday) Pay Rate: $120 - $135/hr Overview: We're seeking an experienced Head of eCommerce to step in as interim coverage while our VP is on maternity leave. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll serve as a strategic leader driving the digital business and ensuring continuity across eCommerce operations, site performance, merchandising, marketing execution, and customer experience. This role requires a dynamic, hands-on leader who can operate across strategy and execution, partnering closely with finance, marketing, creative, merchandising, and external tech partners. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining momentum during this transition and in executing key seasonal initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Lead the eCommerce team and own the digital channel’s financial performance, working cross-functionally to deliver on commercial and growth goals. Commercial Execution: Drive the digital sales strategy and lead planning and flawless execution for peak moments like Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Align teams around revenue goals and customer experience. Digital Marketing & Retention: Oversee eCommerce marketing efforts, including email, SMS, and mobile campaigns, in collaboration with marketing and creative teams. Support acquisition and retention strategies. Customer Experience & Site Optimization: Ensure the site experience supports conversion, storytelling, and brand positioning. Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, and third-party partners to optimize performance and journey. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central connector between the eCommerce function and other departments. Participate in key planning meetings and lead weekly business performance reviews. Agency & Tech Partner Management: Oversee relationships with digital agencies and tech vendors (Shopify, ESPs, recommendation engines, search partners, etc.) to ensure performance and innovation. Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven eCommerce Leadership: Experience managing DTC eCommerce operations and teams, with full P&L accountability and a record of delivering measurable growth. Shopify Expertise: Familiar with Shopify for both reporting and front-end management; knowledge of adjacent tech tools (email/SMS platforms, product recommendation engines, etc.). Data-Driven Decision-Maker: Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into strategy. Adept at working with data teams and deriving actionable conclusions. Collaborative & Communicative: Strong communicator who can influence and align cross-functional teams—from tactical execution to executive-level strategy.
