Job Title: Hot Asphalt Transport Driver

Overview: A Hot Asphalt Transport Driver is responsible for hauling our product from our terminals to a customer or Suit-Kote locations in a safe and timely manner while abiding State and Federal Motor Carrier Laws.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to always observe safe work practices and operating procedures. Whenever on Suit-Kote property, a customer's facility, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

· Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips.

· Maintain and submit daily records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver's record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law as well as fuel slips and timesheets

· Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight loading and unloading areas. Must be able to back up equipment in all types of weather and conditions. This includes backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight corners in all situations.

· Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment and any highway safety hazards noted enroute to location

· Ability to keep equipment clean or clean it when needed

· Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle

· Work in all types of weather conditions

· Adhere to the requirements of different customer facilities

· Coordination and communication with dispatch to ensure customer satisfaction

· Safe handling of products 300 deg. plus

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Valid CDL A

· Tanker endorsement

· Able to work efficiently and independently

· Exhibit strong customer service skills and willingness to work in a team environment

· Strong work ethic

· Must be able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors

· Ability to practice good physical organization, judgement, and time management

· Hours - Overtime and some weekend hours are occasionally necessary. Start times are typically between 1am and 6am.

· Must be able to drive for extended periods of time - up to 3 hours one way

· Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted

· Consent to a DMV license evaluation

· Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds

· Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

· Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

· Physically able to open and/or close dome lids on trailers; hook and/or unhook trailers from truck; climb ladder to check holding tank, and handle hoses associated with this position

· Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

· Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets

· Hazmat endorsement a plus

· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.

Salary Range: $25-$27
