AMD together we advance SMTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER THE ROLE: AMD is looking for an influential software engineer passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be part of a core team of talented industry specialists working with the latest hardware and software technology. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering, possess leadership skills, and be capable of driving resolution of sophisticated issues. Effective communication and collaboration across teams at AMD are essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products Apply a data-minded approach to optimize efforts Stay informed of trends and innovations in software and hardware, especially related to algorithms and architecture Design and develop groundbreaking AMD technologies Participate in ASIC and hardware bring-up processes Debug and fix existing issues and research more efficient solutions Develop technical relationships with peers and partners PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong object-oriented programming background, preferably in C/C++ Ability to write high-quality, detail-oriented code Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs Experience with Windows, Linux, and/or Android OS development Familiarity with software development tools such as debuggers, source control (GitHub), and profilers is a plus Effective communication and problem-solving skills Motivating leadership and good interpersonal skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
