Reports To: Operations Manager / President of Manufacturing

Location: Ft Worth

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This role ensures compliance with customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements, and fosters a culture of quality throughout the organization. Will be required to inspect machined parts upon delivery to ensure quality of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to comply with API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ensure that the QMS processes are established, implemented, and maintained across all departments.
  • Serve as the Management Representative for API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015 certification and audits.
  • Plan and lead internal audits, management reviews, and external audits by customers, registrars, or API.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, trends, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the nonconformance process, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and effectiveness verification.
  • Ensure proper document and record control in line with QMS requirements.
  • Coordinate quality training and awareness programs for employees to ensure understanding and adherence to QMS requirements.
  • Ensure effective control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Lead customer complaint resolution, including investigation, root cause analysis, and response.
  • Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring in line with QMS requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality procedures in support of operations and projects.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout the organization.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor / Associates degree, preferred but not required.
  • Quality Management, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001:2015 and/or API Q1 is strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications in quality disciplines (e.g., ASQ CQE, CQA) are an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or oilfield services environment.
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining QMS under API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Demonstrated experience leading internal and external audits.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing, machining or parts inspection
  • Strong understanding of quality principles, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA).

Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of API Q1 and/or ISO 9001:2015, and relevant industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build a culture of quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QMS software.
  • Ability to read blue prints

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in both office and shop/yard environments.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites, suppliers, or company facilities as required.
