**Overview:**
As a Security Officer with our team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their premises. Your responsibilities will include patrolling designated areas, monitoring surveillance systems, and promptly responding to security breaches or incidents. Depending on the assignment, you may be required to carry and responsibly use firearms or provide unarmed security services. Exceptional observational skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and strong communication abilities are essential for this role.
**Responsibilities:**
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and promptly respond to security issues or emergencies at our DuSable Harbor location.
- Monitor surveillance systems and inspect property against unauthorized access or hazards.
- Provide a visible and professional presence to deter potential threats or suspicious activities
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Liaise with clients, visitors, and employees, offering assistance and guidance as necessary.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
**Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security-related fields is a plus.
- Valid security license or certification as required by state regulations (PERC, FCC, Off-Duty, Retired)
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or the military preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work in an unarmed roles.
- Strong observational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Clean criminal record and impeccable integrity.
