JOB PURPOSE As the Associate Director, PR & Industry Relations for PC in NA, you will lead cross-category PR, Industry Relations and Other Say communication for Unilever’s biggest business unit in its biggest market. Excelling in end-to-end demand generation is a focal point of Unilever’s new GAP 2030 Strategy and your expertise and leadership in communications will elevate PC’s capability to deliver Culture at Scale and stay three steps ahead of the market. This is a high visibility role that will provide counsel to the US CEO and report into the Chief Media and Marketing Capability Officer. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE Elevate PC capability through proactive thought leadership and continuous exploration of new agency, partner, platform and measurement models and opportunities. Lead external communications, PR & Influencer Marketing strategy at cross category level for PC, including role of cross category social hum content and leverage of Brand Other Say content into shopper plans. Partner with and complement Demand Generation PR/Influencer leaders in brand organization to drive excellence on their programs. Partner closely with peers on Media and Marketing Capabilities team to optimize campaigns and maximize the power of paid and earned media. Lead cross category tentpole Other Say and PR including Retailer and Sports Tentpole Content Strategy and Deployment. Own PR and Influencer marketing agency roster management and exploration of new models. Set annual KPIs for PR and influencer marketing programs across the portfolio. Maintain strong media contacts and be the external-facing PR and Influencer marketing expert for PC US. Local issues management (US and Canada). Partner with the Personal Care division to lead execution of scale events. Manage PC product awards strategy and execution. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Experiences & Qualifications An expert in PR, communications and influencer marketing (8-10 years of experience either at an agency and/or in-house), with perfect understanding of what does and does not work in PR and Influencer Marketing channels. A crafter who is able to create compelling stories (written and visual content) to deliver maximum earned coverage across earned and paid channels. A self-starter who is obsessed with tangible business results, OKRs and pioneering new models - pushing the boundaries of what it takes to land impactful PR and influencer content (that drives engagement and ultimately sales). A collaborator who thrives on working together with different teams and marketing specialties to execute programs with excellence and clarity. A strategist and executor that leverages the thinking skills to develop strong programs for innovation and purpose campaigns while leading the agenda on leadership and culturally relevant topics. Proven track record with executing award-winning PR and influencer marketing programs in the US (for both product and purpose campaigns). A Talent Catalyst that can manage members of the team to work independently and own work/projects, taking pride in developing their skills. A seasoned possessor of Communications Judgement, that can take control of risk & issues management - identify potential risks, mitigation, contribute to live issues management led by corporate comms incl. seeking the correct inputs from brand, R&D. Existing media contacts with consumer and trade beauty print and online media, and broadcast outlets. Pay: The pay range for this position is $138,900 to $208,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
