Carpenter (San Diego, CA)

Lead Marine San Diego

Full Time

$24.00 to $26.00/hour

1st Shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm

2nd Shift – 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Lead Marine has immediate openings for Journeymen Class Carpenters. This position is for the San Diego Shipyard. Marine/Boat experience is a huge plus but not a requirement. For this project you will be working 40 hours/week however be prepared 10 hour days and some weekends. You must have construction experience and you must be familiar with hand and power tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Candidates will be using hand and power tools to install plywood flooring, hand rails, siding, framing.
• Carpenters will be required to assist other carpenters.
• Must be able to build and install wooden blocks for ships in dry dock.
• Be able to read prints, schematics and drawings.

Requirements for this role include:

• Candidates must have at least 4 years of carpentry experience.
• Must be proficient in both rough and finish carpentry.
• Must have current PCMS (Passive Countermeasure Systems) Certification and experience installing rubber and/or neoprene tile.
• Candidates must know the layout of ships and the different compartments.
• All candidates must work with the highest level of safety.
